The mission of our electrical division is to meet the needs of the electrical industry. Our department consists of experienced engineers, technicians, and field crews who provide specialty services and support for a wide range of client needs. We assist clients in commissioning new equipment, programming devices, supporting storm restoration efforts, and troubleshooting various issues. Working on site gives us a practical understanding of potential problems and effective solutions. We serve municipalities, electric cooperatives, power companies, industries, institutions, and the federal government, with project capabilities spanning substation voltages from 4 kV to 500 kV and transmission and distribution line voltages from 69 kV to 345 kV.
Bridge development projects vary from rehabilitation of existing structures to complete replacement. Our experience extends to interstate, city and county bridges over roadways, railroads, and waterways including pedestrian bridges in various capacities. Each project provides the client with efficient, cost-effective, aesthetic and long-term solutions.
Distribution system engineering begins with short and long term planning. This may include load flow analysis, system protection and coordination, general replacement, operational needs load and growth forecasting, analysis, and designs to serve the anticipated load. It is then time to implement solutions to the needs identified. We have the staff and expertise to do both.
Allgeier Martin has designed thousands of miles of transmission line from 69kV to 345kV. We can provide a wide range of services from the start of a project to the very end.
Intersection development projects include geometric improvements of existing intersections, installation of new intersections, addition of pedestrian facilities including upgrades of various kinds to improve capacity, safety and site distance. Projects include state highways and city and county roadways. Each project includes close coordination with various agencies to serve immediate and future needs of the area.
We provide protective relay coordination and settings. We can provide a detailed commissioning of a substation and relaying, and assist with energizing and initial operation. We also assist with functional operations and potential future troubleshooting.
We assist in acquiring right-of-way needed by electric, water, and sewer utilities. Acquiring sections of land across private properties can take time and effort. It occasionally requires the use of eminent domain as a last resort. However, our ROW team works towards a satisfactory negotiation for both private landowners and utilities.
Our engineers and staff serve a variety of clients to meet the needs of the public. We have received national recognition for our ability to make improvements to transportation facilities on time and within budget.
Allgeier Martin is regularly involved in site planning and layout. Services include extensive grading and earthwork computations, sanitary sewer design, hydrology and stormwater design, water system design, roadway layout, easement preparation, and construction oversight.
Our engineers and hydrologists specialize in planning and design of stormwater systems, hydraulic structures, and evaluation of existing systems.
We design substations to our client’s preferences and the latest IEEE, RUS and other standards. Our team of experts specialize in delivering tailored solutions for our clients that prioritize safety and cost control. From concept to detailed design and from small distribution stations to large EHV transmission stations, we have the knowledge and experience to accommodate the wide range of needs of any project.
Trails and sidewalks are essential links that help communities move, gather, and thrive. When designing these routes, we look at the full picture—multi-purpose paths, stormwater needs, ADA accessibility, and existing facilities—to create pedestrian networks that are safe, enjoyable, and built to last.
Wastewater collection engineering involves designing and constructing systems that transport wastewater from homes, businesses, and industries to treatment plants. This includes the design of gravity sewers and pumping stations that efficiently and safely carry wastewater while minimizing leaks and blockages. Engineers must consider factors such as pipe materials, flow rates, and topography to ensure optimal performance and prevent contamination. Additionally, they work to integrate systems that manage inflow and infiltration, rehabilitation, and replacement efforts and prevent overflows, all while adhering to regulatory standards to protect public health and the environment.
Wastewater treatment engineering focuses on designing and implementing systems that clean and purify wastewater before it is released back into the environment. The process typically involves several stages including biological treatment, clarification, and disinfection with many systems requiring nutrient removal that may involve more advanced control of the oxygen delivery, chemical addition and filtration. We design treatment plants that can handle varying volumes and strengths of wastewater, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and improving water quality. We also work on sustainable solutions, such as water recycling and energy efficient technologies, to reduce environmental impact and promote resource conservation.
Our approach to water systems integrates storage, treatment, and distribution to deliver safe, reliable water to the communities we serve. We design storage facilities that maintain consistent pressure and capacity, treatment processes that remove impurities and meet strict health standards, and distribution networks that move clean water efficiently and dependably. From structural considerations and regulatory compliance to treatment technologies and distribution monitoring, our team looks at the entire system to create resilient, long-lasting solutions tailored to each community’s needs.
