Description:

We are looking for an entry level engineer in our Power Distribution Group. The individual will work in diverse facets to assist our electric utility clients in the Midwest. We are looking for someone for line design, road moves, site inspections and planning. This includes structure design, finite element analysis, the ability to read and understand road plans, and understand how construction units fit together. This department typically designs for 25,000 volts and below.

This position will grow into managing your own clients. Training will be provided.

This person would assist our engineers in the planning stages of electric utility assets. Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with engineers and technicians is also desired.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize software to run contingency analysis of various electric lines and systems. Lines are in the 2,400 volts through 25,000 volts range. You will work with energy values at the customer level.
  • Some ESRI or GIS mapping use. Training will be provided.
  • Expected travel of approximately 10%
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Efficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access
  • Math skills required, math background is a plus

We are looking for an Electric Distribution Field Staker that will collect field data and design electric lines in the field on diverse projects. This position is for someone who likes travel and working outdoors.

Responsibilities:

  • Approximately 90% travel expected, including out of town

  • Development of schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings for fabrication of relay panels in accordance with client and industry standards

This person would assist our engineers in producing CAD-generated drawings, with instruction from peers, for final review and approval of professional staff.   • Complete accurate and thorough CAD drawings, on time, and compliant with firm standards
  • Drawings will include electrical control schematics, control panel wiring diagrams, control panel construction drawings, substation equipment connection diagrams, and other required drafting output

  • Analyze and design projects for stormwater, streambank stabilization, bridge and culvert design, and land development

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited degree program
